Why is my offer different from the market range?

Illustrative reference ranges, not offers or valuations. They are context only; your offer comes from a specialist’s assessment of your bag. When Uwane buys, we purchase your bag directly rather than waiting for a resale, and take on the resale risk: the cost of authentication, preparation and holding the bag, and the time it takes to find the next owner. Your bag’s condition, completeness, current demand and our inventory all shape the offer. The range is context, not a formula.

Do I have to wait for my bag to resell before I’m paid?

No. Uwane purchases your bag directly. Your payment does not depend on finding another buyer. At launch we buy only from, and pay only, the verified individual owner. The purchase price, payment method and payment date must be agreed and written on the Bill of Sale before signing; a purchase cannot close with any of these blank. In person, we pay when the Bill of Sale is signed: cash is counted together before you sign the cash receipt, or a bank transfer is sent at signing. For shipped items, we pay by the date on the Bill of Sale, usually within 5 business days of signing. A failed or returned transfer does not discharge the price. Raising a discrepancy later does not waive a claim.

How will I be paid?

At launch we buy only from, and pay only, the verified individual owner. We pay by cash in person or by bank transfer (ACH or wire). A bank transfer goes only to an account in your own name that matches your verified ID; we cannot pay an account held by a spouse, friend, other person or company. For purchases above $5,000, we pay by bank transfer only. We confirm new or changed bank details through a separate, known channel before paying, and we never act on bank-detail changes sent by email alone. The payment method and date are written on the Bill of Sale before signing.

Do I need to buy another bag or take store credit?

No. You can simply sell your bag for a cash payout. Concierge sourcing is an optional service if you want help finding another bag; it is not a condition of selling to Uwane.

When will I receive my quote?

We usually reply within 2 business days once we have your complete details and clear photographs. Our reply may include a preliminary quote, a request for more information, or confirmation that we cannot make an offer.

What if I already have another offer?

Tell us about it in your enquiry notes. We can review a comparable written offer for the same bag alongside our own assessment. This is not an automatic price-match promise.

How do you assess my bag?

A specialist reviews every bag: its model, size, leather, colour, hardware, condition and included accessories, with the market in view. Your preliminary quote is based on the details and photographs you share; the final offer is subject to inspection.

Can you help me find my next bag?

Yes. Mention it in the notes on your enquiry and tell us what you are looking for. We can discuss sourcing alongside your sale, including any preferential pricing available. Availability, costs and any benefit are confirmed individually before you commit.

Which bags can I submit?

Our current focus is Hermès handbags, including Birkin, Kelly, Constance, Picotin, Evelyne and Lindy. Choose ‘Other / not sure’ if your model is not listed. Each enquiry is reviewed individually.

Do I need to know the exact leather, colour or year?

No. Only the model and the overall condition are needed. Share what you know, and skip the rest or choose Not sure. Clear photographs give us a starting point for the conversation.

Do you buy exotic leather bags?

Yes, where the law allows. We buy Hermès bags in certain exotic leathers — crocodile, alligator and ostrich among them — after we identify the species and review documentation. On current California law we do not buy lizard, python, cobra, sea turtle, elephant, or other species restricted under Penal Code §653o. Choose ‘Exotic skin’ for the leather, or leave it blank and let the photographs show us. Tell us if you have the CITES document or the original receipt, and do not bring or ship an exotic bag until we approve it in writing.

Am I selling directly to Uwane?

Yes. This is an enquiry about Uwane purchasing your bag. You do not need to create a public listing or manage enquiries from other buyers.

Can I submit a bag with wear or missing accessories?

Include photographs of the wear and tell us which accessories you have. You can start an enquiry without a box or receipt; submitting a bag does not guarantee an offer.

Which photographs should I include?

Start with a clear front view. Add the back, corners, handles, interior and any visible wear where possible. The form has a labelled place for each view and accepts up to 8 photographs; you do not need professional photography. You can also send your details first and add photographs afterwards: we will contact you to arrange the photographs needed for review.

Who reviews my photographs?

Our team includes contracted authentication specialists, some of whom may be outside the United States and may review cleaned item photos and item details through secure messaging apps such as WeChat. We never share your name, contact details, ID, thumbprint or payment details with these specialists. The messaging app provider may process or store those photos outside the United States. Original uploads are deleted after 30 days through storage lifecycle expiry. Only cleaned copies are reviewed and shared with our team; these follow the enquiry or transaction retention periods in our Privacy Notice. Expiry is asynchronous; where versioning is enabled, noncurrent originals are permanently deleted after a further 30 days.

Which image formats work?

Use JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC files, up to 10 MB each. HEIC photos from an iPhone are converted to JPG on your device. If a photo cannot be opened, export it as JPG and add it again.

Should I photograph my receipt?

You can indicate that a receipt is included without uploading it. Keep names, addresses, payment details and other personal information out of your photographs.

Will I receive an instant price?

No. The enquiry is the starting point for a personal review. The team considers your bag’s details and photographs before discussing an offer and any inspection needed.

Why is a thumbprint needed if I sell?

A thumbprint is required by California law for this purchase. If another applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will give that notice or ask for consent before taking it. We do not use it to authenticate your bag or for any unrelated identification system. It is never shared with our contracted authentication specialists and is destroyed as the law requires, including paper copies. Our Privacy Notice explains the retention schedule.

Do I have to accept an offer?

No. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to selling. You decide whether to proceed after reviewing the offer and its terms. Reply to the offer email to accept, discuss, ask questions or decline. Silence is never acceptance.

Can I meet you in Beverly Hills?

Start with an online enquiry and tell us if you would prefer a later visit. You can also use the visit request form. A visit request is not a confirmed appointment: wait for the team to confirm the arrangements. A visit does not promise an immediate inspection or final offer.

Should I send my bag before hearing from you?

Do not ship until Uwane Trade sends written, item-specific approval and instructions. After approval, you may arrange your own shipment or request a Uwane shipping kit with protective packing materials and a form or label pre-filled with our address. We offer a free Uwane shipping kit once you accept a purchase offer, or after we confirm serious intent in writing. You may use your own box. Ship only after written, item-specific approval and instructions. Follow the approved method and packing instructions either way. Your item is insured for the agreed value through the carrier and account named in the written instructions; items above available coverage are handed over in person. The instructions confirm who pays shipping costs. A photograph review is separate from physical inspection.

Is a photograph review the same as an inspection?

A review of photographs is separate from physical inspection. Please wait for instructions from our team before sending your bag. A visit request needs confirmation.

Is my enquiry sent or saved?

Until you send, your draft stays on this page. Leaving or refreshing clears unsent details. Uploads begin when you send your enquiry. Sending saves your details and photographs for Uwane Trade to review and queues a confirmation email. It does not book an appointment or agree a sale. Wait for the saved confirmation and keep its reference. If receipt is unconfirmed, keep the page open and use Check & retry to recover the same enquiry.

What if the confirmation email does not arrive?

A queued confirmation, or acceptance by our email service, does not confirm that the email reached your inbox. Your saved enquiry does not depend on email delivery. Keep the reference shown on your saved confirmation and contact Uwane Trade if you need help.
