Privacy Notice

Version 2.5 · Effective date: 10 October 2026 · Last updated: 10 October 2026

Summary

  • Who is responsible. Corner Harajuku LLC, doing business as Corner Beverly Hills (California secondhand dealer licence 000005313), is responsible for your information. Uwane Trade is its buying service, not a separate company.

  • Our authentication team sees the bag, not your identity. Our team includes contracted authentication specialists, some of whom may be outside the United States and may review cleaned item photos and item details through secure messaging apps (such as WeChat). Only cleaned item photos, with embedded camera data including location removed, and item details are shared with them, never your name, contact details, ID, thumbprint or payment details. The messaging app provider may process or store those photos outside the United States.

  • What we collect. To give a quote we need very little: your first name, your email, and details and (optionally) photos of your bag. If you go ahead with a sale, we collect the identity details and thumbprint required by California law and the payment details needed to pay you.

  • No sale, no ad profiles. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Since 10 October 2026, on our public pages we use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand how people find and use the Site and which of our ads lead to quote requests. Remarketing and ad personalisation are turned off, and no name, email, phone number, bag details or case number is sent to Google. You can opt out (section 9).

  • Law enforcement. When we buy an item, we must report the purchase, with your details, to the California Department of Justice. We may also report suspected stolen or counterfeit goods.

  • Your rights. Email privacy@uwane.com to ask for access, correction or deletion, or to opt out of marketing.

1. Who is responsible for your information

  1. Uwane Trade starts with pre-owned Hermès bags, which we buy directly from sellers. "Uwane" is a brand name. Corner Harajuku LLC, doing business as Corner Beverly Hills (California secondhand dealer licence 000005313), is responsible for your personal information. Uwane Trade is its buying service, not a separate company. "We", "us" and "our" mean Corner Harajuku LLC, including anyone acting on its behalf.

  2. People who work for us. Our team includes staff and contracted authentication specialists. Access is limited to what each person needs for the purposes in this notice. Contracted authentication specialists receive only cleaned item photos and item details, as described below.

  3. Contracted authentication specialists are part of our team. See sections 6.3 and 11.

  4. This notice covers the Uwane Trade website (the "Site", currently trade.uwane.com), our forms, emails, calls and messages, appointments and visits, and purchases. Other Uwane services have their own notices.

2. Information we collect

2.1 When you ask for a quote or contact us

  • About you: first name (required); email address (required); country and, optionally, state or region and town; optional phone number and the time zone for a call back; how you prefer us to contact you; and whether you are the owner (we buy only from the verified individual owner at launch).

  • About the bag: model, size, leather or material (including whether it is exotic), colours, hardware, year and stamp, condition, wear, damage, odour, repairs and who carried them out, included accessories and papers, when and how you acquired it (for example original purchase, pre-owned, gift or inheritance), and any notes you add.

  • Photos of the bag (optional; up to eight).

  • Optional preferences: a price in mind, your timing, whether you prefer a visit or approved shipping, notes on what you are looking for, and whether you want marketing emails (a separate box, unticked by default).

  • Other forms: the contact form, the visit-request form (which includes your preferred day and time) and the email sign-up form collect your name, email and what you write.

Please do not send ID numbers, bank details, card details, or photos of people or documents through the form. We never ask for them there.

Photo metadata. We keep your original upload securely and make a cleaned copy with embedded camera data, including location, removed for review. Only cleaned copies are reviewed and shared with our team, including contracted authentication specialists. Original uploads are deleted after 30 days through storage lifecycle expiry. Cleaned copies follow the enquiry or transaction retention periods in section 4. Storage expiry is asynchronous; where storage versioning is enabled, a noncurrent original version is permanently deleted after a further 30 days.

2.2 When you go ahead with a sale

  • Identity information required by law: full legal name, address, date of birth, physical description, government ID type, number, issuing authority and expiry date, signature, and a thumbprint. We take a photograph or other image of your ID only where the law requires it.

  • Ownership and provenance information: your certification that you own the item, receipts, certificates, and CITES or other wildlife documents for exotic skins.

  • Payment information: bank account and routing details, including the account holder's name so we can confirm the account is in your own name. If you are paid in cash, the signed cash receipt.

  • Transaction records: quotes, final offer, bill of sale, the photos, measurements and video we take of the item, its arrival and its inspection, and our authentication notes.

  • Compliance checks: the results of sanctions, fraud and stolen-property checks.

2.3 When you visit us

  • Appointment details and the names of people coming with you.

  • CCTV video of our premises (cameras are installed and signposted). We do not record audio of conversations without the notice or consent the law requires.

2.4 Collected automatically when you use the Site

  • Technical data that our hosting and security providers process to deliver and protect the Site: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, the referring page, and the date and time. An approximate location (country or region) may be inferred from the IP address. We do not request precise location from your device. Original uploads may contain location metadata, as explained in section 2.1.

  • Cookies: those strictly needed for the Site to work, and, on our public pages, analytics and advertising-measurement cookies set by Google (section 9).

  • Analytics and advertising measurement. Since 10 October 2026, on our public pages (not on your private case page or on staff pages), we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement. Google receives the address of the page and the page you came from, the pages you view and how you interact with them (for example scrolling, or clicking a link that leaves the Site), browser and device information, cookie identifiers, your IP address (which Google uses to estimate an approximate location; Google Analytics does not store it), and, if you arrived from a Google ad, the ad click identifier. We also record when a quote request is saved, when you tap our phone number, and when you open map directions to us. These records carry no name, email, phone number, bag details, photos or case number. We do not use session recording, social-media pixels or remarketing, and ad personalisation is turned off.

2.5 From other sources

  • Shipping carriers and insurers (tracking, delivery and claims), and banks or payment services (payment confirmations and returns).

  • Law enforcement and other authorities (for example, a notice that an item has been reported stolen).

  • Public and reference sources used to assess an item, such as references for model, colour and stamp, and stolen-property registers.

  • Our contracted authentication specialists, who give us their assessment of an item.

5. California secondhand-dealer reporting and thumbprint notice

We are Corner Harajuku LLC, doing business as Corner Beverly Hills (California secondhand dealer licence 000005313). When we buy an item, California law (Bus. & Prof. Code §21625 and following) requires us to:

  • verify your identity and record your identification details;

  • take your right thumbprint (or another finger);

  • record your certification that you own the item; and

  • report the purchase, with your details and the item's, to the California Department of Justice through CAPSS, daily or no later than the next business day.

Law enforcement agencies can access these reports. We retain the required identification records and hold the item for the periods California law requires. We cannot delete information while the law requires us to keep it, even if you ask.

Thumbprint notice. Your thumbprint is a biometric identifier required by California law. We take it because California law requires it for this purchase. If another law that applies requires additional notice or consent, we will give that notice or ask for that consent before taking it. We do not use it to authenticate the bag or for any unrelated identification system. Only authorised personnel responsible for legal compliance can access it within our business; it is never shared with our authentication specialists. We disclose it only as the law requires or permits for the secondhand-dealer transaction. We destroy it as the law requires, including paper copies, after the applicable retention period and any legal hold have ended.

6. Who we share it with

6.1 Service providers and people acting for us

The providers below support our service. We limit the information supplied to the purpose involved. Our contracted authentication specialists are part of our team and receive only cleaned item photos and item details. 6.2 Law enforcement, authorities and legal requirements

  • Mandatory secondhand-dealer reporting (section 5).

  • Suspected crime. We may report suspected stolen, counterfeit or unlawfully traded items, or identity or payment fraud, with relevant information, to law enforcement, including wildlife authorities for exotic skins.

  • Legal process. We respond to subpoenas, warrants, court orders and other lawful requests, and we disclose information where needed to comply with law, including tax, currency-reporting and sanctions law.

  • Rights holders and registers. Where the law allows, we may share item details (and, where needed to resolve a suspected-counterfeit or stolen-goods matter, limited seller information) with the brand owner of the goods, such as Hermès, or with a stolen-property register.

6.3 Our authentication team: item data only

Our team includes contracted authentication specialists, some of whom may be outside the United States and may review cleaned item photos and item details through secure messaging apps (such as WeChat). Only cleaned item photos, with embedded camera data including location removed, and item details are shared with them, never your name, contact details, ID, thumbprint or payment details. The messaging app provider may process or store those photos outside the United States. Before sharing, we check that photos do not show you, other people, documents or your address. We may obscure personalised initials. Photos received by email or messaging have embedded camera data removed before sharing. We use this material to assess the item and protect it as potentially personal information because it can be linked to a particular enquiry.

6.4 Other disclosures

  • Business transfers. If our business, or the Uwane Trade business in the US, is reorganised, sold or transferred (including to a new operator), personal information may be transferred to the new operator. It will remain protected in line with this notice and the law.

  • Protecting rights and safety. We may disclose information to protect the rights, property or safety of our staff, customers or others, and to enforce our terms.

  • With your consent or at your direction.

6.5 No sale, no sharing for behavioural advertising

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months. Google receives the measurement data described in sections 2.4 and 9 to provide analytics and conversion measurement to us. We have turned off Google signals, remarketing and ad personalisation, so we do not use this data, or let Google use it for us, to build an advertising profile about you or to target ads to you.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, and we require the same of anyone acting for us. These include encrypted connections; photos stored privately rather than publicly; staff access controlled and limited to those who need it; separation of identity and payment records from enquiry data; locked storage for paper records; and limits on what goes into staff chat. No system is completely secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Protect yourself from impersonators. We email only from @uwane.com addresses. We never charge for a quote, and will never ask you to buy gift cards, send cryptocurrency, share a password or confirm bank details by clicking a link. A genuine request for an agreed charge or a repayment will name the transaction and the clause it relies on. Verify it by calling +1-310-388-8228 before paying.

8. Marketing and messages

  • Marketing emails are sent only if you tick the separate, unticked box. Ticking it, or not, does not affect any quote or offer. Each marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email privacy@uwane.com. We act on opt-outs promptly and keep a minimal record so that we do not email you again.

  • Messages about your enquiry or sale (replies, appointment confirmations, receipts, shipping updates) are not marketing. We send them while your enquiry or sale is open, even if you have not opted in to marketing.

  • Calls. If you ask us to call you, we will call the number you gave about your enquiry. We do not send marketing texts or make marketing calls. We tell you at the start of any call we record, and if you object, we stop recording.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses cookies that are strictly necessary and, on our public pages only, cookies for analytics and advertising measurement set by Google.

Strictly necessary. Our own cookies are first-party, secure and not readable by scripts:

Our security provider may also set security cookies, or run a challenge, to block bots and abuse. If you block these strictly necessary cookies in your browser, the quote form may not work.

Analytics and advertising measurement. This measurement began on 10 October 2026. It runs only on our public pages: the home page, Request a quote, the selling guide, Questions, Visit, Contact, this notice and the Terms. It does not run on your private case page or on staff pages.

Google may also read or set its own cookies on Google domains, for example if you are signed in to a Google account, under Google's own policies. Our Google Analytics measurement ID is G-GRZGFD9BQH and our Google Ads account is AW-18503797588. We have turned off Google signals, remarketing and ad personalisation. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How to opt out. You can do any of the following, and the quote form still works:

  • block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser or extension that blocks analytics and advertising tools;

  • install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout; and

  • manage how Google uses information for ads in My Ad Center: https://myadcenter.google.com.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and our Google measurement runs with remarketing and ad personalisation turned off. The Site does not currently behave differently when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. You can opt out of Google measurement as described above. If we ever sold or shared personal information, we would treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out.

10. Children

The Site and our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and we do not buy from minors. If you think a minor has contacted us, email privacy@uwane.com and we will delete their information, unless the law requires us to keep it.

11. Where information is stored

Our enquiry database and platform photo storage are in the United States. Team members, including contracted authentication specialists outside the United States, may view cleaned item photos and item details through secure messaging apps such as WeChat. We never share your name, contact details, ID, thumbprint or payment details with those specialists. The messaging app provider may process or store those photos outside the United States. These transfers concern item photos and details, not only technical connection data.

12. Which privacy laws apply, and your rights

We provide the request process below to every seller. Nothing in this notice limits rights you have under applicable privacy law. Where a privacy law gives you additional rights or requires different response deadlines or procedures, we will follow it.

Your choices. Every seller may ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;

  • correct anything inaccurate;

  • delete your information. The law requires some information to be kept, including secondhand-dealer records, tax records, records needed for fraud prevention or legal claims, and information needed to complete a transaction in progress. We will tell you what we must keep and why; and

  • stop marketing at any time.

We will not treat you differently, for example in a quote or offer, because you made a request.

How to ask: email privacy@uwane.com, or write to Corner Harajuku LLC, Attn: Privacy, at the address in section 14. Someone you authorise may ask for you with your signed permission.

Verification. We match the details you give against what we hold. For enquiry data, that is usually your email address and details of the enquiry. For sale records containing ID, payment or thumbprint information, we use a stricter check, which may be in person or by a secure method. We use verification details only for verification.

Timing. We aim to reply within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you. Requests are free. If we cannot do all or part of what you ask, we will explain why.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. We will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is material, for example adding a new type of tracking or a new category of recipient, we will give reasonable notice before it applies, on the Site or by email to anyone with an open enquiry. We will not use information already collected in a materially different way without telling you and, where the law requires it, getting your consent.
